Safety, Quality & Efficiency

Patient safety was a major factor considered in every decision made for the new facility.

Increasing efficiency and ease of care for our physicians, nurses and other providers contributes to overall patient safety and quality. Some examples of this design include:

  • Specific medical departments positioned adjacent to each other to improve flow of care for patients and caregivers.
  • All patient rooms are “same-handed,” which means the orientation of the patient is the same in every room.
  • Each room is positioned so it is not possible to see the patient lying in the bed from the corridor. This increase privacy for our patients.
  • Handrail on wall runs from the side of the patient bed to the bathroom.
  • Infrastructure in place to install ceiling lifts for patients who may need assistance.

Electronic Medical Records

Another factor of patient safety is accuracy of medical records. SJRMC is now fully functional on Electronic Medical Records (EMR). EMR gives our staff more time to interact with patients and less time documenting and filling out paperwork.
