Patient care at our hospitals represents only a small fraction of our service to the at-risk community. Our initiatives include the Chapin Street facility, recently renamed the Sister Maura Brannick Health Center, the Family Medicine Center in Mishawaka, and the Saint Joseph Care Center in Plymouth. Our communities' day-to-day needs are met; this is a core component of the mission of Saint Joseph's.
We are very proud of our new mobile medical unit, a 40-foot vehicle offering examination rooms, mammography screening, and preventative care. This care unit on wheels – the only one of its kind in Indiana – brings healthcare to neighborhoods and helps reduce emergency department trips for those without primary care physicians.
This new, technologically advanced unit elevates the level of healthcare SJRMC provides to underserved and underprivileged populations. It enables us to take our services directly to the neighborhoods that need them – not only in St. Joseph County, but also in Marshall and LaGrange Counties.
Beyond our mission of delivering outstanding healthcare combined with faith-based compassion, we also help care for the greater Michiana community in numerous other ways. SJRMC provides sponsorship or funding assistance for community organizations.
Many thanks to our fantastic associates and volunteers who make so much of our good work possible.
