Indiana Hospital Data & SJRMC's Commitment to Patient Safety

March 26, 2007 – Because patient safety is critical to all Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center associates we want to make access easy to the first preliminary report covering health care facilities error reporting. This report has been issued by the State of Indiana Department of Health.

This report presents information on reportable events between January 1, 2006 to December 31, 2006. You will see a baseline of medical errors and types of errors previously not gathered or reported to consumers. The report will be updated often by the State.

Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center encourages all our patients and patient family’s to review the report and help us inform all on the existence and importance of the new report.

Our compliance staff will report patient outcomes to the State. We will use the data reported throughout the State as a tool to help us achieve evidence-based initiatives and continue to deliver the safest health care setting possible.
