“A Real Good Sign . . .”

SJRMC Name, Logo Reminds Community New Hospital is Nearing

Drivers and pedestrians along Mishawaka’s Main Street Corridor have grown used to the structure that has risen and is now enclosed with brick, which will soon be the new Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center. Meticulous interior work is now underway and will conclude within the year.

Recently, Saint Joseph’s name and logo were placed high atop on the building’s west side.

“I think having our name and logo now on the building is symbolic in so many ways,” said Nancy R. Hellyer, Saint Joseph’s President and CEO. “Not only is it another milestone for us in the process of getting there, but it’s another reminder to the community of what is soon to come.”

The new Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center’s 254 private inpatient rooms were designed to create a hotel or home-like environment. Features include: oversized windows; 32-inch high-definition flat-screen televisions; computer stations at every patient room; built-in casework to display cards and flowers; valet parking; internet wireless access throughout the building; signage in both English and Spanish, and many more amenities.

The new Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center is on schedule is on schedule and on budget to be complete in the fall of 2009.

“What’s nice about the name and logo going up when they did is that’s about next year we will open,” Hellyer said. “So for the community, this is definitely a real good sign, pun intended!”
