SJRMC Appoints New Members to Its Boards
Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center has appointed new members to its Board of Trustees, Board of Directors of SJRMC/South Bend, SJRMC/Plymouth, and the Foundation of Saint Joseph.
To its Board of Trustees, SJRMC welcomes John Oliver and Scott Malpass. To it Board of Directors of SJRMC/South Bend, SJRMC welcomes Dr. Robert Oppman. To its Board of Directors of SJRMC/Plymouth, SJRMC welcomes Thomas Flynn, also electing John Oliver as SJRMC/Plymouth’s Chairman of the Board. To its Board of Directors of the Foundation of Saint Joseph, SJRMC welcomes Corey Cressy, Alfred Guilluame, Jr., Francis McDonald, and Lynn Viater.
All new SJRMC Board Members began their terms on January 1, 2009.

Exterior facing of Saint Joseph’s new hospital is complete while several months of interior work continues. SJRMC’s new hospital is on schedule to open later this year.
SJRMC’s New Board Members
Mr. Corey Cressy: Mr. Cressy is a Real Estate Advisor with Grubb & Ellis/Cressy and Everett. A member of the Healthcare Advisory Group, Mr. Cressy specializes in retail/office development and in office leasing, particularly in Mishawaka’s Edison Lakes Corporate Park.
Mr. Thomas Flynn: Mr. Flynn is the Sales Manager at Shamrock Homes in Plymouth. He is President of the Mentone Flying Club based in Rochester, IN – the third oldest flying club in the nation.
Alfred Guillaume, Jr., Ph.D.: Dr. Guillaume is the Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs at Indiana University South Bend. Mr. Guillaume’s professional, community, and civic involvements include: President of the Fischoff National Chamber Music Association, Member of the St. Joseph County Community Foundation, South Bend Symphony, WVPE, and United Way.
Mr. Scott Malpass: Mr. Malpass is the Vice President and Chief Investment Officer for the University of Notre Dame. Mr. Malpass is a concurrent assistant professor of finance in the Mendoza College of Business and serves on the investment advisory committee for Major League Baseball and for the National association of Securities Dealers.
Mr. Francis J. McDonald: Mr. McDonald is the President and Chief Physical Therapist of McDonald Physical Therapy & Sports Rehabilitation Center, P.C., which he founded in 1989. His independent practice has grown to a staff of 50, providing an average of 9,400 patient treatments annually for over 600 physicians. His satellite clinic on campus at Notre Dame provides treatment for University faculty, staff and students.
Mr. John Oliver: Mr. Oliver is the owner of Plymouth-based U.S. Granules Corporation. A new member to SJRMC’s Board of Trustees, Mr. Oliver was recently elected Chairman of SJRMC/Plymouth’s Board of Directors, of which he has been a member for the last five years. His many community contributions include the construction of Plymouth’s Bill Nixon Field, regarded as one of the finest baseball facilities in the Midwest.
Robert Oppman, M.D.: Dr. Oppman practices at Granger Family Medicine. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and is a member of the Indiana State Medical Society. Dr. Oppman served as a Captain in the Indiana National Guard Medical officer Training Corps from 1989-1992.
Mrs. Lynn Viater: Mrs. Viater has been instrumental with the growth of the Pediatric programs at SJRMC, most recently a long-term partnership Riley Hospital for Children that has enhanced outpatient pediatric specialty care and complements the children’s primary care services currently available in Michiana. In 2007, Lynn and her husband, Chuck, chaired SJRMC’s annual Faithful Lives Celebration.
